had to downgrade camera to 1.1 software to allow use of battery. You can find step by step instructions on how to do this on the internet. It's not complicated,,just a hassle. My panasonic lumix zs3 would not allow me to use the new battery until i downgraded the software. Camera works the same as before. The battery works a little better than the panasonic and at this cheap price,,,why buy the expensive one? Only gave it four stars due to the hassle.

Not sure why it's "recommended" when it doesnt work with SZ7 ???
I bought for a vaction , switched batteries and go the Great error message.
Either Amazon should take off "recommended or put a warning that they dont work with SZ7.

As of now, the battery is working very well. The charge in the camera has lasted for several days and still going.

I have had no problems with this battery. Downgraded to firmware 1.1 first and it works great. Battery life is equal or maybe even better than the Panasonic battery (I haven't actually counted the shots), but it seems to last as long. I would definitely recommend this battery over the more expensive Panasonic.
